New @Twitter-fueled TV Show Preps for Debut in LA

Julie Zeitlin – The sole member of the U.S. Rhythmic Gymnastics team has been cast as a host for an exciting new TV/Social Media project called #OMTZ! (@OhMyTweetz). It’s created by serial entertainment entrepreneur, Greg Gutierrez, who’s Directed and Produced Reality TV pilots and major film projects. He’s also recently penned the Hollywood film, Wiener Dog Nationals (with Jason London and Morgan Fairchild).

The new TV personality told Apollowati: “It’s literally a Twitter-Hashtag-inspired variety show – I just shot the pilot – and it’s a multi-host format! The opportunity came to me after I met Greg Gutierrez in LA! I’m very excited about this opportunity!” Zeitlan said.

“The single-host*, legacy TV format probably won’t be as successful. The time for those shows has passed,” Greg Gutierrez said. “I think Millenials (20 somethings) want to watch a group of people with some real diversity, who they can relate to.”

*Single-host format shows, however, do not seem to be going anywhere: “Katie,” for example, was the highest-rated freshman talk show last season, and Meredith Vieira recently announced that she will be hosting her own talk show beginning in 2014.
